The Equal Rights Award recognizes the achievements and contributions of individuals and organizations whose selfless work helps create a world that is more inclusive, just, and fully equal for all.

Any member of the McLean County Democrats may submit nominations. Each nomination must include a letter addressed to the Equal Rights Awards Committee detailing the nominee’s achievements and contributions that promote equality. Nominees need not be from McLean County but should have helped make an impact on its citizens. Nominations should be submitted electronically to [email protected].

Criteria

The Equal Rights Award will be awarded to one or more individuals or to an organization for a political, educational, social, legal, artistic, or scholarly contribution that helps eliminate unlawful discrimination, advances equality, or promotes understanding between people from different groups.
