Memorial Day Parade with the McDems
Join the McLean County Democrats as we walk in the 2022 Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 30th!
Formation will begin at 8 AM on Front St. from Madison St. to Prairie St. in Bloomington. The parade kicks off at 9 AM. We will walk to Miller Park bandstand with closing ceremonies at 10 AM. We will be handing out flags to walk with. Please come and show your support!

Join us on Saturday, May 7th at 10 AM to knock doors and get voters in Bloomington-Normal signed-up to vote-by-mail this election year! Vote-by-mail ballots allow voters to vote at their own convenience and it's a great way to make sure every voter's voice is heard! We will be meeting at HQ in downtown Bloomington (422 N Main St., Bloomington, IL) for a short training before we head out to the doors!

Postage Paid, Democracy Saved!
Are you looking for an easy way to help out your local McLean County Democrats? Donating money for postage is a quick way to support not just one, but all of our local candidates and Precinct Committeepersons!
This month we are running "Postage Paid, Democracy Saved!", a fundraiser to help raise postage funds to send out letters and postcards this election season. If you already have stamps you would like to donate, you can drop them off to HQ (422 N Main St., Bloomington, IL) every Friday 4pm - 7pm, Saturday 10am - 2pm, or contact [email protected] to arrange other drop off times.

Join us this Saturday, March 12, to walk in the St. Patrick's Day Parade! Line up starts at 12:30pm on School St. between Locus and Mulberry, and the parade kicks off at 1pm. There will be many candidates joining us, so make sure to bring your walking shoes and:
- Dress WARM!
- Wear your favorite GREEN clothing
- Be ready to have some fun!

Join us on Sunday, February 20 from 2pm - 4pm at IBEW 197 for a petition drive. Each individual will get a sweet cupcake for stopping by!
Petitions can be signed inside, or we can bring them out to your car for curbside service. Social distancing, masks and vaccinations are required indoors.

Headquarters are OPEN part time for petition signing
The McLean County Democrats will have office hours Monday through Friday, 11am - 1pm and 6pm - 8pm. We will also have someone there on Saturdays from 10am - 2pm. Come sign candidate petitions or take some with to get signed.
We are being extra careful due to the rise in COVID numbers, so please wear a mask, make sure you're vaccinated and boosted, and limit the numbers present in the office at any one time. If you have any questions, let us know at [email protected]

Season's Greetings McLean County Democrats!
'Tis the season to celebrate all of our hard work from 2021 and to enjoy some together-time gearing up to turn McLean County BLUE in '22!
Join us at Headquarters' this Saturday, December 18th from 7-9pm for some after-dinner desserts, hot cocoa (spiked or regular), crafty fun with an ornament decorating station, and general merriment with friends.
We'll be sampling the season's tastiest treats from some of our favorite local sweet spots - Ivy Lane, Sugar Momma, Tiff's, and Grove Street Bakery, so come ready for some of everything.

Hey McDems, let’s shop small and give thanks for our upcoming First Friday!
Friday, November 5th from 5:30-8:30pm the McLean County Democrats office is transforming into a small business market, full of local artisans, entrepreneurs, and crafters. Come support their businesses and get some early holiday shopping in. As a way to give thanks to our amazing community we will be collecting non-perishable food items and household supplies to support the School Street Food Pantry. We’ll have free snacks and drinks (for a monetary donation to the Food Pantry) to sustain your shopping spirit!
We look forward to shopping, collecting, and mingling with you!

Trick or Treat with the Dems!
Join the McDems tonight, October 29th from 5-8pm for the annual Downtown Bloomington Trick-or-Treat event!
Inside the office we’ll have a spooky good time for the older ghosts and goblins with refreshments and will be taking donations for alcohol-filled libations. We encourage you to come dressed for the season whether volunteering or socializing.
As a reminder, masks are required and the hand sanitizer will be flowing freely. (The mask for your costume may be fun and spooky, but covid is even spookier - we still request that you have a covid-safe mask on as well.)

The McLean County Democrats are happy to honor the legacy of President Barack and Michelle Obama with the 2021 Obama Legacy Dinner! Join us on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at the Illinois State University Bone Student Center.
David Axelrod, former Senior Advisor to President Barack Obama, current host of The Axe Files podcast, and Distinguished Senior Fellow at the University of Chicago Harris School of Public Policy will share his knowledge, experience, and hope for our local party, state, and country.
Proceeds benefit the Baldini scholarship awarded to an ISU student in John Baldini's name, and the Obama Legacy scholarship awarded to a veteran or current service member attending Heartland Community College. The remaining proceeds benefit our local Party and efforts.

Walk with us in the 2021 Labor Day Parade!
We're gearing up for a huge year in 2022 - let's have a big presence at the Labor Day Parade! We need folks to donate candy, walk, or both. Please review the available slots by clicking the link below, and then click on the button to sign up.
The Parade begins at 10 a.m. on Monday, September 6, at Front and Center Streets in downtown Bloomington, proceeding to Miller Park. Parade line-up is at 9 a.m. The Parade will proceed west on Front Street to Lee Street, south on Lee Street to Wood Street and west on Wood Street to Miller Park.
Join us wearing blue or your favorite Dem shirt to participate in the parade. All participants must wear masks, all candy tossers must be gloved.
